Scuba Diving Open Water Course (NAUI Certification)

This course covers all fundamental knowledge and skills of scuba diving including dive techniques and use of dive equipment. Participants will start to dive in Stanley Smith Pool and progress to the open water in Sai Kung. After successful completion of the course, participants will obtain open water diver certification from The National Association of Underwater Instructors which is internationally recognized organization and they can continue diving in any fabulous dive sites in Hong Kong or overseas.


Prerequisites: Participants must be capable of swimming at least 200 metres.  Swimming test will be conducted in the pool training session.


Point to note:

1) Participants MUST attend all the lectures and trainings to complete the assessment for certification.  

2) The CSE provides all the diving equipment including buoyancy compensator and regulator; weight belt, fins, masks, snorkel, wetsuit and tanks.

Kayaking for Beginners

Participants will start with learning all the basic essential kayaking strokes such as Forward, backward, abeam and spins in the first few lessons at the Henry Fok Swimming Pool (SHSC).  Then the participants will be paddling in the last lesson at Sandy Bay.   This course is designed to teach beginner paddle kayak safely and enjoyable on calm protected ocean environment or other flat water setting.  


After successfully completion of the course, the participants will attain the Kayaking One and Two Star Award from Hong Kong Canoe Union.


Prerequisite:

1. Participants are expected to be able to swim for 50 meters and stay afloat in water at destined location for one minute without assistance from any buoyancy aid.

2. Confidence in and under water without panic.

Sport Climbing Elementary Certificate Course

This course follows the syllabus of the Sport Climbing Elementary Course of China Hong Kong Mountaineering and Climbing Union (CHKMCU).  Course content includes basic climbing techniques and use of artificial climbing holds. Belaying method and safety measure will also be introduced. Participants will learn to use climbing equipment including climbing rope, harness, belaying device and karabiners.  Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive the certificate from CHKMCU.

Adventure Hike

The program is suitable for individuals with some experience of hiking who would like to have more adventurous hiking experience.  In this programme, participants will be hiking and climbing with the guiding of the experienced instructors in area of Yuk Kwai Shan and Ap Lei Pai, Hong Kong Island.     Participants will acquire basic scrambling skill and protection techniques during the journey.  Details will be provided before the programme.

Wild Camping Craft

Hiking and camping is one of the best way for us to discover the nature.  The programme is designed for those who want to learn the basic skill of hiking and camping.  Participants in the course will learn how to properly pitch and how to safely make the fire for cooking in the wilderness.  After the completion, participants will be able to plan and participate in a recreation camping activity.

· Participants MUST attend the briefing session to prepare the camp.

· All camping gear is provided by CSE except personal clothing and eating utensil.  The course will be carried out by overnight camping format.
