UNI-ADVENTURE PROGRAMME INFORMATION
All currently registered HKU full time students and staff are eligible to enroll the programmes.

Unless specified, all courses are at beginner’s level. For courses at intermediate/improver level, participants should have some experience in the activity. For the certificate courses, participants have to attend all lessons and complete the assessment to attain the certificate.
Most of the activities will take place at the Flora Ho Sports Centre (FHSC)/ Lindsay Ride Sports Centre (LRSC); Stanley Smith Swimming Pool (SSSP) in Pokfulam Road; and the Stanley Ho Sports Centre (SHSC) in Sha Wan Drive. Other courses are held outside HKU including St. Stephen’s Beach Water Sports Centre in Stanley and the countryside in Hong Kong. Participants have to arrange the transportation to the venue.
Clothing and Equipment
Participants MUST wear suitable sports attire and footwear. Otherwise, they shall not be allowed to take part in the activities.
Assumption of Risk
Participants with pre-existing medical problem should seek advice from a medical doctor before participating in sports activities and take more breaks during physical activities. As the health effects on individuals may vary, participants should seek advice from a medical doctor if they are in doubt or feel uncomfortable.
Programmes may include rigorous outdoor activities under variable environmental conditions and that there are a number of inherent risks involved in these activities which are beyond control of HKU, instructors, staff, employees and agents of HKU or their affiliated parties.
Most facilities have changing rooms and coin-operated lockers. Please bring a five-dollar coin to insert into a locker. The coin will be refunded when you empty the locker.
For courses conducted in the Flora Ho Sports Centre (FHSC), Lindsay Ride Sports Centre (LRSC), Stanley Ho Sports Centre (SHSC) and off campus site:
- Classes will be cancelled if typhoon signal No. 8 or above is hoisted - If there is persistent heavy rain, classes involving outdoor activity will be cancelled. - Water sports courses may be cancelled (subject to the location) if lightning warning signal is hoisted. - Course participants should call the IHP at 2817-4046, ninety minutes before the start of the class, to check whether the class has been cancelled
For courses conducted outside the FHSC, LRSC, and SHSC, please refer to the guidelines laid down by the concerned organization or instructors.
Cancellation of Courses
- All courses are non-refundable and non-changeable. Refunds will not be made to participants who withdraw from the course on his/her own terms.
- If a programme has to be cancelled due to inclement weather or special circumstances (e.g. emergency maintenance of craft/venues, etc.), our staff will notify the participants of the subsequent arrangement as soon as possible. The programme may be re-scheduled or the compensatory session(s) may be re-arranged subject to the availability of the venues and instructors. However, the refunds will not be made to participants if the programme/ session (s) cannot be re-scheduled or re-arranged.
- In case of insufficient enrollment, participants would be notified the cancellation of activities at least 7 days prior to the commencement of activities. A full refund will be granted to the participants.
